We love making restaurant recipes at home because we can see exactly what is going into them, and it saves money.
I’ve loved these Animal Style fries (and everything else at In-N-Out) for such a long time. These taste EXACTLY like them and are less than half the price.
They are so easy to make, and your family will go crazy over these. You can just tell them it’s a secret family recipe, and nobody will ever know.
Well… until they go to In-N-Out and get them for themselves.
how to make animal style fries from in n out
Step 1:Preheat oven to 350˚F.
Step 2: Bake fries according package (usually 20 minutes). I just got frozen and packaged fries from the store.
You could however, peel and slice your own, but I don’t have a lot of time on my hands, so I am all about a quick short cut.
Step 3: While fries are baking, heat oil and brown sugar in frying pan over medium heat.
The brown sugar is the secret ingredient that makes these fries a little sweet. It adds a whole new flavor to the french fry game.
Step 4: Add chopped yellow onion and cook onions until caramelized.
This will take usually about 5-7 minutes until the onions are fully caramelized.
Step 5: Remove fries from oven and sprinkle with cheese.
I used cheddar cheese, but you could use what you have on hand, or prefer.
Step 6: Return to oven and broil on high for three minutes until cheese has melted and fries begin to get golden around edges.
Step 7: In a separate bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, pickle relish (I prefer sweet), sugar, pepper, salt and apple cider vinegar.
I used a whisk to combine them. Stir until all the ingredients are fully combined. This sauce is really what makes these fries delicious. I could probably drink it.
Step 8: To serve, top cheese fries with caramelized onions and sauce. Enjoy.
looking for the perfect burger to serve with it?
You can’t have fries and not a burger to eat with it? Luckily, I have a few burger recommendations for you.
You are going to love our BBQ Bacon Burger. It is so delicious. It should be illegal to serve a hamburger without bacon on it. The combination just works.
I am also currently obsessing over our Cheeseburger Wraps, for those nights I don’t really feel like heating up the grill. You gotta try this one.
