How to Get Verified in Discord (2024)

Discord’s free text, VoIP, video, and chatting platform offers a whole lot more than meets the eye. Its unique features include Twitch integration and many more must-haves for streamers, content creators, and regular users. Whether you’re a business owner or someone who just wants to have a chat, to reap the full benefits of Discord, you are required to complete a verification process.

How to Get Verified in Discord (1)

In this article, we’ll show you how to verify your account, your server, or your bot.

What You Need To Start

Before starting the server verification process, ensure you meet the following minimum requirements:

  • In addition to being the server owner, you are an official representative of a brand, business, or person of public interest.
  • Your other relevant social media accounts have been authenticated to help Discord verify your application is legit.
  • You have a formal email address linked to your business or brand to demonstrate your official position.

Discord looks for the following when deciding whether a server is in the public’s interest and meets the verification criteria:

  • Authenticity: Your server represents a brand, registered business, or public person of interest.
  • Originality: Your server is the unique presence of what it represents. Only one official server will be verified per brand/business, though there may be some exceptions for the region or language-specific servers.
  • Familiarity: You, your business, or your brand has a strong social media presence and official website. Paid or promotional content is not considered a source for review.
  • Your server will need to meet Discord’s community guidelines.

Verification is at Discord’s sole discretion. Once verified, you’ll receive a custom, unique URL, Invite Splash, and a verification badge as proof that your server is legit.

However, if at this time your server doesn’t meet the criteria for verification, you can always show its authenticity by sharing your server invite from a Twitter account or your official website.

Alternatively, if you’re a streamer or content creator, you can apply for your server to become a Discord Partner. Visit the Discord Partner official webpage for more information.

Discord requires that bots added to 100 servers are verified. Once the 100-server mark is reached, you will not be allowed to add your bot to more servers without verification.

Once the 75-server mark is reached, you’ll receive an email from Discord, including a link to the Developers Portal, where you can apply for bot verification in advance.

To start the process:

  1. Either click on the link from the email received from Discord or go to the developer’s portal website.
  2. At the top of the page, a “Verification Required” banner will display with a link to the application.
  3. Once a scanned copy of your official photo ID has been approved, you’ll need to complete the information required in the boxes below. There must be at least 100 characters per box.
  4. Once you click Submit, the application will not be submitted.

After you have hit submit, a “Verification Request Processing” banner will display across the screen, confirming successful submission. Once your bot is verified, it will receive a “Verified” checkmark showing it’s legit.
