For those of you who like to share your best recipes, I wanted to create a design to coordinate with the Fall food labels from yesterday’s post. This is a 4×6 card that prints two per page. The text fields are editable when you download the PDF onto your computer and open in Acrobat. You will first need to install the free font, Museo Slab. Once installed, simply click onto any of the fields and replace with your own recipe. Print them onto card stock and they are ready to add to your edible gifts.

Today, I used the chai spice mix and tea recipe for the photos as it is one of my favorites, and because some of you have requested that I share. I found this recipe a few years ago at thekitchn.com and made a few of my own changes to fit my taste. I love the look of these spices as a gift and adding the recipe card not only gives the instructions on how to brew a cup, but to make a new batch once this one is gone. A two-in-one gift! If you would like the recipe you will find it as the placeholder text in the PDF below. You can change it to your name and pass it on! Enjoy using the cards and I do promise a Christmas version to coordinate with next week’s Christmas labels. Cheers! ~ Lia

I am creating a cookbook (in a binder) for a gift. Is there anyway to have this print on an 8.5 x 11 – I just want one recipe per page…. ? Love the design!

I just subscribed so that I could download this specific recipe card, ive used them before and love them. Nothing else compares. I am having issues though. When I click the download/print link it opens a window with the tea recipe and options to print or save. I need the editable version to input my own recipes…which is not showing up. What am I doing wrong?

  Hi Amy, welcome! You’ll need to download the PDF to your desktop to edit, so choose the Save option and go from there 🙂

I’m quite late to this I realise, but I’m wondering how to change the font size if the recipe I am typing doesn’t fit and I would like to shrink everything. I’ve only been able to do it by moving everything to a new program and creating my own text boxes, which doesn’t look as good. Also, the title of the recipe doesn’t centre in the frame – it justifies to the top. I’ve tried manipulating it through the main font controls but that doesn’t change it. Any ideas?

I know this post is almost a year old now but I am in love with these cards!! I’m just starting my recipe box and these are perfect!! Just one little problem I’m having is that when I print the background hue comes through very yellow. I have two printers and both print some variation of it. I know it’s totally on my end but do you have any advice on how I can get it to print with a white background, more like your picture?! Thank you!!

  Hi Alley, they are supposed to be light yellow but if it is coming through very yellow you might try to caliber your printer settings and use the option for photo. If not my go-to is Google. I am not a techie 😉

    Also maybe try the “head cleaning” option for your printer. Other than that I am at loss:) Printers just vary so much. There is always Kinkos:)

Thank you so much, Lia. Your designs are both warm and charming, yet classically beautiful and have inspired me to enhance and organize my whole kitchen! I’ve received many compliments. I am just so very pleased! You are a talented designer for certain. I am using your Blackboard Spice Jar Labels and now, your Fall Recipe Cards. I do have a question, though: It seems that when I print out your cards, the background color prints out in a pink hue. Although I do enjoy pink, I would prefer to print your recipe cards in the neutral tone in which you intended. Would you mind sharing any tips that would help solve this dilemma?

I host a once a month craft night and always have the recipes for the nights “nibbles”! I have printed out the recipes on your cards and they have raised the bar for this months craft night!

Is the little jar that holds the chai spices vintage or do you have a source for them? I love the look of the glass lid and wire bale, but I can only ever find vintage options online.

Thank you so much, Lia. These recipe cards are absolutely beautiful! Would you mind sharing which font you used for your editable fields? I must not have the same ones, and my cards are printing just a wee bit wonky. Even without the same font, I still love them. It makes the whole meal making process just that much more delightful to use such charming cards!

I was trying to redo some of my recipes so I could laminate them, and now I can use your pretty card! Thank you! You are so good to us, I know I appreciate all the gifts you give us so generously. Recipe cards are so nice. Can hardly wait to see what’s next.
Don’t think I’ve ever tried teas like your recipe.
I have some tea a nice guy my youngest son works with in Singapore brought me one time when son brought him to meet us here in CO at our home. His name was Mike.
Oh how I’d love to go to Singapore and see what they see. I’ve seen little bit of Singapore couple times on HGTV’s House Hunters Intl. Youngest son works in Singapore for weeks at a time now, maybe couple weeks at home then back again.
I always enjoy seeing those shows as at least I get to see what other countries are like a little bit. I’m a traveler, love to go but we can’t anymore. My hubs was a trucker when we lived in MT and KY but got to see more of country when we drove for MT company. I miss that very much.

Oohh, chai tea and chai lattes are my favorite! I’m a big fan of the Oregon brand boxed concentrate, but being able to make it at home or for a gift would be even better! This would be a perfect stocking stuffer…can’t wait for next week’s holiday version.

  I love them too but most concentrates have way too much sugar for me. I like to make mine from scratch because I like LOTS of spices and to add coconut milk. I just drank that double cup in the photo. . . I am sooo buzzing around now. I have a feeling I will not be getting so much sleep tonight. haha.
